How much airin your tyres?

Too hard and the bike skips about. Too soft and you pinch-flat or squirm in corners. Tell us about you and your tyres and we'll give you a front and rear number to start from.

Never exceed the max printed on your tyre sidewall, or your rim's max if you run tubeless. Those always beat this calculator.

  • Use a gauge. Squeezing the tyre lies; most floor pumps have one built in.
  • Tune from here. Harsh or skipping? Drop 1–2 psi. Rim dings or squirmy corners? Add 1–2.
  • Check weekly. Tyres lose a few psi a week, tubes faster than tubeless.

Rule-of-thumb numbers based on load and tyre width, then softened for loose ground and tubeless. Fun fact: our home page loader pumps every visitor to 32 psi. Good for a cruiser, wrong for nearly everything else.
